BlueEFFICIENCY from Mercedes-Benz stands for pioneering efficiency technologies as well as innovative packages of measures based on optimising fuel consumption and emission levels.

Efficiency technologies in the new CL

The new V8 engine generation includes measures such as downsizing, direct petrol injection, two compact turbo chargers for a fast response and an intercooler for optimum thermodynamic efficiency.

Innovative engine technology makes it possible to significantly reduce emissions and fuel consumption compared with previous models.
The BlueEFFICIENCY measures in the new CL:

ECO start/stop function for the CL 63 AMG (switches the engine off when in neutral to save fuel)

alternator management with energy recuperation from braking (V8 engines)
